What is Eco-Industrial Development (EID)?
Eco-Industrial Development entails a network of entities
(businesses, government agencies, financial communities, neighborhoods,
and civil society) interacting with each other to efficiently share
resources (information, water, energy, infrastructure, transportation,
and materials), leading to economic gains, improvement in environmental
quality, and enhancement of quality of life for the business employees
and local community.
What is US-AEP Doing to Promote EID?
- Assisting industrial park/estate management in the application
of various EID best practices.
- Supporting Asian NGOs in the promotion of EID best practices
through workshops, websites, and public education activities.
- Providing technical assistance to governmental agencies responsible
for the oversight and/or regulation of industrial parks.
- Facilitating the involvement of Asian industry and government
leaders in regional and worldwide EID-related organizations and
conferences.
